Your Data Has A Story, Let Me Help You Tell It

According to Forbes, every day we generate 2.5 Quintillion bytes of data. Filtering through noise and finding the trends is essential to modern business. I am passionate about leveraging data to solve the most pressing problems that businesses face.

I am a proven strategist with experience partnering with executive leadership, internal and external stakeholders, and customers to deliver major major strategic initiatives. I have led system-wide organizational transformations, international and domestic expansions, and complete overhauls of business intelligence reporting systems to help leaders better monitor and improve KPIs. I have also helped an organization establish a new department to recover over $7 Million in underpaid accounts, creating best practices, training a team, and developing tools to identify high-value opportunities.

I am adept at balancing multiple tasks at once, as my typical workload consists of 5-9 projects at any given time. Because of these experiences I developed excellent project planning, organization, communication, and time management skills.

Growing up, I moved over 36 times, lived in 8 states, and 2 countries. These life experiences have made me an extrovert who enjoy challenges and adapts well to change. I am able to join teams, quickly figure out the dynamics at play, make strong relationships, and start delivering results right away.

About Me

I am a problem solver that never shies away from a challenge. Whether it's studying abroad in Italy without speaking the language or joining the gymnastics team even though I had never attempted a handstand. I believe the best way to grow is to take calculated chances and expand beyond one's comfort zone.

I am a lifelong learner and constantly seek out new experiences and ideas. Since graduation, I have earned over 160 certifications that were strategically chosen to help me build my skills to be a better strategist. My learning endeavors are not solely limited to formal education though. I make it a point to speak to leaders across industries and roles. Everyone knows something you don't and can teach you, if you are able to listen and take their lesson to heart. To be truly effective and innovative, one must learn from others who have different perspectives.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family and friends, exercise, explore the city, swim, ride my bike, go on the occasional hike, and perfect my two-step.

Recommendations

Jasper helped my team optimize a set of legacy reports to make them leaner and less prone for errors. His dedication and perseverance to work through some complex workbooks was very valuable and will help reduce the amount of manual transforming time that our team has to spend. Additionally, he helped with process improvement by creating handy reference guides for new hires as well as helped to reinforce our documentation for common troubleshooting issues.

Jasper thinks of data ethics first. Customer experience and the rights of the customer are his highest priorities. I highly recommend Jasper for analyst or strategy positions.

Jasper did a terrific job collecting data and helping on a research project involving cost analysis and outcomes in liver transplantation. We very much appreciated his hard work. He showed an excellent skill set and understanding of the data.

Great job Jasper!!!

Dr. Zakiyah Kadry, FACS
Chief, Division of Transplantation, Professor of Surgery, Penn State Health

Jasper is a very driven individual with a tenacious appetite for learning. I appreciated his willingness to ask questions and dig into problems. It was a pleasure to help onboard him and work with him when he started at Penn State Health as a Strategic Planning Analyst, and I'm excited to see what his future holds.

Matthew Poolman
Senior Strategic Planning Analyst, Penn State Health

I have worked with Jasper over the last two years as he completed his HPA degree. I know him to be conscientious, inquisitive, analytical, and focused. He has a well-developed ability to extract meaning from data and to keep larger, strategic, and system goals in mind while working diligently at the tasks that make those goals a reality. He asks the right questions in a manner that develops the thinking of his peers and teammates working toward a common goal. As the world of health care delivery evolves rapidly, Jasper would be a great addition to any team looking to learn from past experience in order to meet the new realities of our work

Chris Calkins

Executive Director, MHA Program, Penn State University

It was a pleasure getting to know Jasper over the course of our shared Health Policy and Administration classes. During our spring semester of 2019, Jasper displayed great leadership and communication skills while we shared many long nights in the library working through our healthcare finance projects. Jasper's work ethic and sheer attention to detail made him an excellent group member. Jasper is definitely an asset to any team that he joins.

Gavin Chambers

Classmate and Team Member

Jasper Cannon stood out in my lecture class of 200 students at Penn State University. He was willing to engage the material in class and I could always count on him to ask thought provoking questions. He became the leader of his section’s final project. The students were given the challenge to improve 24 health and health care outcomes using the ReThink Health simulation. Managing 15 students (with various motivations for being in the class) and the project logistics (e.g. calibrating various initiatives to attain the prescribed targets, writing a group report, developing a group presentation) can be a challenge but Jasper met this challenge head on. He has the intellect and drive to achieve professional success

Mark Sciegaj

Professor, Penn State University

Jasper is a solid and dedicated post-student interested in the field of healthcare. He is driven toward success and is very compassionate about making healthcare safe; as he is knowledgeable about healthcare from many perspectives. His internship experience was positive, and solidified his pursuit of a career in healthcare.

Maria Dawson, MHA

Professor, Penn State University

Jasper is an active learner, consistently participating in class activities and discussions. His performance in my classes placed him among my top students both in terms of his examination of health and medical needs and as reflected in his participation and analysis of the issues.

Jasper brings different perspectives to the table, further enhancing the learning environment. Furthermore, he is articulate and personable. I would expect him to perform well in a wide range of environments.

Christina Daley

Professor, Penn State University

I met Jasper through the Vyten Career Coaching community. Jasper is kind, helpful, and a skillful collaborator. Whether it was helping me prepare for interviews or being there for support during my job search process, Jasper has made a difference. He cares about his friends and colleagues and he does whatever he can to help. If you are looking for a person who can do the work but also have fun, I strongly recommend adding Jasper to your team.
